Directed by Hassan and Hossein Seyedkhani and produced by the late Seyed Alireza Sajjadpour, this film portrays the resilience of war-stricken people who, despite hardship, choose to stay in their homeland.
They form a small camp and try to bring joy back to life by organizing a football match — a game that takes a dramatic turn at the 55th minute.
Written by Mehdi Naderi and Maryam Ashrafi, The Red Rectangle has received several international awards, including the Crystal Medal and Golden Plaque from the FICTS Festival in Italy, recognition at the Resistance International Film Festival, and an Honorary Diploma from the National Lantern Festival.
