Biography

Maryam Khaleghi Yazdi is an Iranian-born multimedia artist, graphic designer, illustrator, educator, and researcher whose work bridges visual communication, typography, digital media, and cultural storytelling. As an Associate Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Minnesota Duluth, she combines academic research with professional practice, creating projects that explore identity, migration, language, memory, and the evolving relationship between technology and human experience.

Holding three degrees in Visual Communication and Graphic Design, including an MFA from Ohio University and graduate studies at the University of Tehran, Khaleghi Yazdi has established an international presence through exhibitions, biennials, and illustration competitions across North America, Europe, and Asia. Her award-winning work has been recognized by prestigious organizations such as Communication Arts, the World Illustration Awards, and PlakatFest, while her projects have been featured by major publications including The Guardian and The Washington Post.

Beyond her artistic practice, she has collaborated with universities, cultural institutions, and technology companies as a senior graphic designer, illustrator, UX/UI designer, and creative consultant. Her expertise spans typography, visual identity systems, interactive installations, editorial illustration, motion design, and user experience design, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach that seamlessly connects traditional craftsmanship with contemporary digital practices.
