Park Zone 3 – International Architecture Competition

The Municipality of Burgas and the Burgas 2032 Foundation are excited to announces the launch of the international architecture competition A Space for Contemporary Art and Culture – Park Zone 3.
The aim is to transform the colloquially known central “hole” in the heart of Burgas into a vibrant hub for art, culture, and community. The project is a significant step in the development of the urban environment and public spaces in Burgas.
A total of 110,000 Euro will be awarded to the best 3 projects and 2 honorable mentions. The 1st prize is 50,000 Euro!
The competition is open worldwide — architects and multidisciplinary teams welcome!
Entries should propose zones, spaces, and buildings within a green park environment that reflect the unique spirit of Burgas and create adaptable and inclusive places, contributing to the expansion of the cultural and social potential of the city center.
The competition gives everyone the opportunity to present their creative ideas, tailored to the needs of the community, with the aim of creating a unique place for interaction, communication, and social integration.
A Space for Contemporary Art and Culture – Park Zone 3 – Awards

1st prize – 50,000 Euro
2nd prize – 30,000 Euro
3rd prize – 15,000 Euro
2 honorable mentions – 7,500 Euro each

Competition Schedule

Launch: 25 September 2025
Deadline for Questions: 28 December 2025
Deadline for Registration: 2 January 2026
Submission deadline: 7 January 2026
Preparation of competition materials for Jurying: 8–10 January, 2026
Jurying: 10 January 2026 – 10 February 2026
Announcement of Competition Results: 16 February 2026
